White birch antler, scientifically named Inonotus obliquus, is commonly known as chaga mushroom. It forms tumor-like sclerotia and mainly grows across the Northern Hemisphere, including Russia, Finland, as well as Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces in China (between 40° and 50° north latitude).
This fungus has a long history of traditional folk use. It contains a rich variety of active constituents such as inonotus obliquus alcohol, oxidized triterpenoids, lanosterol, folic acid derivatives, vanillic acid and syringic acid. Chaga mushroom powder serves as a natural botanical ingredient for daily wellness applications.
